Laser hair reduction is the process of hair removal by means of exposure to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle. A concentrated beam of light is aimed at the hair. The light is then absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which damages the hair follicle enough to retard future growth. Laser hair removal is the only answer for ladies with thick hair on the chin, jawline, face, legs, and belly. This is because these areas are influenced by hormones, and as such, the hair is thick and resistant to other forms of hair removal. Moreover, the thick hair leaves unsightly dark patches due to frequent attempts of removal with plucking and waxing. The number of sessions varies with individuals depending upon the hair density and skin sensitivity.

Is it Laser Hair Reduction or Removal?
It is actually Laser Hair Reduction against the much-publicized name called Laser Hair Removal. This is because after the x number of sessions that a person takes, the hair usually becomes thin enough and the hair density reduces significantly enough so that they are not visible to the naked eye unless specifically paid attention to.
Yes, they are completely safe. The treatment is US-FDA approved for hair reduction and the dermatologists and the therapists are well trained to annihilate any error. Test patches are usually done before the procedure which further adds to the safety.
Generally, around 6 to 8 sessions are required for hair reduction. The sessions may increase in people with hormonal imbalance such as female patients with PCOS.
You can remove the hair by shaving, trimming or depilatory cream. Shaving does not result in thicker hair growth, as the laser weakens hair root and the hair either stops growing or grows out finer. Waxing and plucking are not acceptable methods of removing the hair between treatments.
We use a laser technology of SHR or super hair reduction which is virtually painless, However a slight discomfort might be experienced over bony prominence and sensitive areas.
Avoid parlor activities such as Bleaching, waxing, threading for a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks prior to the procedure. This is because waxing and threading remove the roots that are usually targeted during laser treatment.
  • Avoid waxing or threading in between sessions on the areas to be treated.
  • Avoid sun holiday, excessive sweating and swimming.
  • Keep your skin hydrated, apply an adequate amount of moisturizer to ensure that your skin doesn’t dry up.
  • To see the best results please stick to the time duration between 2 sessions as suggested by the doctor.
